Why this rock is probably not a meteorite:
It's full of holes. Meteorites don't have holes (vesicles)
like this.
|
What is it?
This is a terrestrial basalt. The top
of this rock has a dark, glassy coating that resembles a meteorite
fusion crust. Such a coating forms at
the surface of a cooling lava, however. Meteorwrong no.
18 has a similar coating.
