Why this rock is probably not a meteorite:

Meteorites never have a texture like this.

When we dropped acid on this one, the acid fizzed (liberated carbon dioxde). That means it's made of calcium carbonate and, consequently, is not a meteorite. 
What is it?

Fossil coral?
