Why this rock is
probably not a meteorite:
This is a piece of a 30-gram rock sent to me by a fellow who found
it in in a dry lake bed in Nevada. We're looking at a sawn
face.

What is it?
This is a meteorite, probably an L chondrite. Metal grains and chondrules
are clearly visible in the photo.
