Why this rock is probably not a meteorite:

This piece of metal was found in New Jersey. It somewhat resembles an iron meteorite and it strongly attracts a magnet. But, we measured the specific gravity and the SG was only 6.2. For iron meteorites the SG is 7.5-8.0.

What is it?

Something man made.
